Call for Artistic Associate

The Co-Artistic Directors and General Managers of ADT, Alicia Molinski and Jessalyn Reimer, are looking for someone to assist with show creation, Youth Artist mentorship, and administrative assistance in the areas of fund development, community outreach and engagement, and box office.
The ideal candidate is well organized, self motivated, a thorough communicator, curious about the administrative processes of a small arts organization, and passionate about nurturing young people in the arts.
A background in performing and practicing dance and/or theatre is essential for this role. Experience in instructing dance and/or theatre to different experience levels and ages is an asset.
Contract Position:
$3000/9 months, June 2026 - February 2027
Estimated Time Commitment:
Sundays 10:00am - 4:30pm, September 13 - November 15, 2026
Saturdays 2:00pm - 7:00pm, November 7 - 21, 2026
Sleep Away Weekend Intensive, October 16 - 18, 2026
Show Week, November 22 - 28, 2026
Strategic Board Meetings, 6 hours each, June 2026 & January 2027, Dates TBD
Auditions, June 28, 2026
Remaining hours are self-directed with a more rigorous workload from September through to early December.
Self directed hours can be completed from home or drop in to the ADT office:

Responsibilities:

Mentor our great dancers

Contribute at various levels from Board Meetings to Show Week and Cast Events

Represent ADT in the community through a variety of planned activities geared towards fundraising, attracting new families, and boosting ticket sales

Assist with creating great productions with your knowledge and ability to guide dancers, families, and volunteers
Desired Qualifications:
-
A degree, diploma, certificate or similar accreditation from a post-secondary institution, training program, or association in dance and/or theatre creation, performance and/or education.

3+ years of professional performance art experience.

3+ years experience working with young people in an educational setting.

An interest in understanding the workings of an arts company beyond the artistic practice (ie. day to day management, strategic planning, etc.)

Experience working in a non-profit or charitable organization.
To Note:
Successful applicants will be required to have a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check in order to take this position.
This contract is eligible to be renewed for consecutive years.
